Nancy Moen , 68, Minot, formerly of Rugby and Upham, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, in a Rochester, MN hospital.

Nancy was born November 30, 1942, in New Haven, CT to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Smith) Spencer. She was raised and educated in Hamden, CT until moving to Bantry, ND with her family. Nancy graduated from Upham High School, class of 1961. She completed her education at Minot Business College.

Nancy was united in marriage to Curtis Moen in Upham, ND at Melankton Lutheran Church in September 1968. This union was soon blessed with a daughter, Elaine. They settled in Rugby, ND following their marriage, where she was employed in the office for Federal Crop Insurance.

They moved to Minot in the early 1980s, where she began work as a civilian at the Minot Air Force Base. She retired in 2000 after a total of 32 years of employment with the Federal Government.

In retirement, Nancy remained active with her grandsons. In January 2010, Nancy received a lung transplant in Rochester, MN. This gift gave a wife, mother, grandmother and sister precious time that will always be remembered and never forgotten.

Nancy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rugby, ND and Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. As a couple, Curtis and Nancy enjoyed square dancing, which led to a membership in the Magic Squares Dance Club, participating in many gatherings over the years all over the state of ND.
