Obituary

Myrtle Alice Olson-Reardon, 96, Minot died on Friday, September 10, 2010 in a Mohall nursing home.

Myrtle was born on November 22, 1913 on the family farm 8.5 miles southeast of Van Hook, North Dakota to Theodore and Alma (Rom) Lee who were formerly of the Denbigh area. She was reared and educated in Liberty Township of Mountrail County where her parents homesteaded in 1912 and in Van Hook. The family moved to Minot in 1928 and she graduated from Minot High School in 1932.

Myrtle was married to Raymond Olson. They made their home on his parent's farm south of Van Hook. The farm was eventually flooded by the waters of Lake Sakakawea. They moved to Minot in 1942 where she was employed at various businesses including the S & L Store, Eagles and Westlie Motor. In May of 1951 she began employment with Trinity Hospital as an insurance clerk/cashier. Myrtle was married to Bernard Reardon. She retired in 1978 after 27.5 years at Trinity Hospital. Myrtle resided at Edgewood Vista for many years before moving to the Good Samaritan Society in Mohall in 2008.

Myrtle was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church Minot, Royal Neighbors of America Camp 3503 and Women of the Moose. She especially enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing.

Myrtle is survived by her children: Marlene (Edward) Benson of Maxbass, Larry (Linda) Olson of Boca Raton FL and Curtis Olson of Kent WA; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; sisters: Fern Klein of Minot and Alma Jeanette Perry of Coon Rapids MN; brother: Gerald Lee of Burlington and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, great granddaughter: Renae Huber, sister: Phyllis Witham, brothers: Harris, Allen and Myron Lee; brothers-in-law: John Klein, Murray Perry and Wayne Witham and sisters-in-law: Bernadine Lee, Alice Mayer and Hazel Lee.

Funeral Service : Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park Minot.
Visitation : Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot and one hour prior to the service in the church.
Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Society - Mohall or the donor's choice.
