Myrtle Beaudoin, 97, Minot, died Monday, October 19, 2020 in a Minot assisted living facility.

Myrtle was born on October 12, 1923 to Ferdinand and Natalie (Kassner) Schieve in Douglas, North Dakota. She was raised and educated on a farmstead in Camerson Township through the ninth grade.

Following her education, she helped on the family farmstead and was employed by the Brandt family where she assisted at their homestead in rural Douglas.

Myrtle married Leo Beaudoin on November 11, 1941 in Douglas. Following their marriage, they lived on a farmstead near Ryder, North Dakota for two years. They moved to Minneapolis/St. Paul for eight months then returned to North Dakota where they lived in Minot since 1945.

Myrtle was employed at the Leland Parker Hotel as a hotel clerk for ten years and also at Bray's Cleaners as a clerk for twelve years. She retired in 1969. Leo died on March 14, 2006.

Myrtle was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minot where she was active in the Lutheran Women's League, the World Relief Group, sang in the church choir, and participated in the quilting group. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, quilting, cooking, gardening and canning.

Her loving family includes her children: Donald (Joan) Beaudoin of Boise, ID, Steve (Bonnie) Beaudoin of Minot, and Gloria Jean Sluder of Welford, SC; Grandchildren: Michael Beaudoin, Tamera (Fred) Elliott, Tim (Erin) Beaudoin of Boise, ID. Kylee (Alex) Pape, Samuel (Anne Smart) Beaudoin of Minot, Joshua (Tracy) Beaudoin of Beatrice, NE. Debra (Gene) Brigman, Annette (Keith) Dorn, and Julie Floyd, of South Carolina. Seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. Sisters: LaVona (Marvin) Getzlaff, and Geraldine Strandberg, both of Minot and sister-in-law Shirley Schieve, Minot along with numerous nieces and nephews. And Mike (Kathy) Coughlin, her church son.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Laverne and Laura; brothers: Paul, Gerhart, Ervin, Alfred, and Arnold and son-in-law Don Sluder.

Celebration of the Life of Myrtle Beaudoin: 2:00 p.m. October 29, 2020 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: October 28, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the kitchen fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
