Myrtis Mary Pardon, 91, Minot, formerly of Berthold, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in a Minot healthcare center.
Myrtis was born on February 16, 1920 in Berthold, ND to Guy and Grace (Wherley) Matzdorf.
She was raised on a farm near Berthold and attended rural school.
Myrtis married Daniel Pardon on March 16, 1940. They made their home in Tacoma, WA for several years before returning to Minot in 1947 where she was a wife and mother to five children: Danny, Richard, Judy, Joann and Eddie. They had resided at 609 South Main Street for many years. Daniel died on May 5, 2004.
Myrtis was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot.
Myrtis' loving family includes her children: Richard (Bev) Pardon and Eddie Pardon all of Minot, Judith Stave of Athens, GA. and Joann (Jack) O'Connor of Atlanta GA; grandchildren include: Michelle (Scott) Wolf, Cory (Denise) Pardon, Stephanie (Dave) Abrahamson, Taggart (Mary Ann) Johnson, Annika Stave and Nicholas Stave; great grandchildren include: Stephan and Ryan Wolf, Cody and Ethan Pardon, Carson and Jersey Abrahamson, and Roxanne Johnson; siblings: Cliff (Ellie) Mitchell of Albany, MN. and Irene (Bobby) Spratt of Minot along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Myrtis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, son, Danny Pardon, and sister Kathryn Stroklund.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church - Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service : Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel - Minot.
Interment: Myrtis will be laid to rest alongside her husband of 64 years, Daniel, at Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the National Stroke Association or organization of the donors' choice.
