Obituary

Myron L. Schroeder, 74, Minot and formerly of Des Lacs died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in his home following a battle with brain Cancer.

Myron was born in 1943 to Leonard and Marian (McArthur) Schroeder. He was reared and educated in Des Lacs until the family moved to Minot. Myron graduated from Minot High School in 1961 and attended Minot State Teacher's College. He then began work with the Great Northern/BNSF Railroad which spanned 43 years until his retirement in 2003. Myron was a member of the North Dakota Army National Guard from 1964 until 1970.

Myron and Glenda Armstrong where married in 1972 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot and were blessed with 2 children.

Myron was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge, and YMCA. His Passions were fishing, hunting, guns and reloading. He loved nature and enjoyed the challenge of getting his garden to flourish. He enjoyed learning about WWII history, studying maps of the states and the world. He loved classic cars and considered himself lucky to have owned a few. He loved to tease and joke. What he loved most of all in his life were his family and his many friends.

Myron's loving family includes his wife of 45 years Glenda; children: Kristen (Charles) Schuppan of Anoka, MN and Derek Schroeder (fianc Cassie Peterson and grandson Jeremy) of Minot; grandchildren: Calleigh, Leilani and Te'a; siblings: Linell (Fred)Hanson of Bismarck and Lonnie (Cindy) Schroeder of Montrose CO; brother/sister-in-law, Mike and Patti Armstrong of AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Agnes Armstrong, sister-in-law, Wanda Puppe, brother/sister-in-law, Gary and Nancy Armstrong, and nephew Mark Armstrong.

Celebration of Myron's Life: Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot.
Visitation: Monday, November 20, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home.
Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor's choice.
