Robert (Hollywood) Dietrich, 78, of Burlington, ND died Friday, February 26, 2021 at a Minot Hospital.
Robert was born in Minot the son of Raymond and Doris (Cash) Dietrich on June 13, 1942. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High school in 1960. Soon after school was complete Robert enlisted into the United States Navy at Long Beach, CA. He served active duty for four years and two years as reserve before being honorably discharged with the rank of E-5.
Robert first made his home in Long Beach and put his military training to good use as an electrician and took a job working for Bell Telephone. While living in California, Robert was blessed with his sons: Robert and Christopher.
In January of 1978, Robert was united in marriage to Sandi Ogden at Heavner, Oklahoma. The couple moved north to Minot where Robert worked for Central Power CO-OP as an electrician for 25 years.
Robert and Sandi had a baby girl that died at birth in 1979.
Robert enjoyed in his spare time: hunting and fishing, buying and fixing up cars and boats. His wife, Sandi was his constant companion and helpmate – what he did / she did. They enjoyed many out of state hunting trips together. In their later years – Hollywood's dream of owning a 40 ft motor home came true and they traveled south for the winter months and meeting up with their Christian friends: Jerry & Linda Vogele from Beulah, ND. Robert was a man of many talents that he would say as "On loan from God!".
Robert was a good friend, who enjoyed listening, learning about others and their interests, and advising others about life and its many enjoyments. He was also very comfortable in the solitude of being alone in God's wonderful creation, be it at a lake, or in the hills and fields of the area. He was in "God's Country."
Robert will be missed by all who knew him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, stepfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi, sons: Robert & Dottie Dietrich of Maple Valley, WA and their children; Ryan & Holly Dietrich, and son Joshua, of Snohomish, WA, Amanda & Kaden Johnston and Eric Dietrich all of Issaquah, WA, Taylor & Havilah Myers and their son Jaxon, of Bonney Lake, WA, stepdaughters; Christina & Daryl Sangray and her children Casey and Nick, of Minot, ND and Connie & Ed McQuinan and her children, Johnny and Jessie, of Minnesota.
