Obituary

Myron Gordon Hayhurst , 85, Minot, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 in Trinity Hospital.

Myron was born on June 21, 1935 in Bottineau, ND to George F. Hayhurst and Myrtle (Mastvelton) Hayhurst. He grew up on the family farm east of Bottineau, ND. Myron attended school in Bottineau, where he graduated from Bottineau High School in 1952. Myron attended and graduated from NDSU at Bottineau in 1954 with an Associate's Degree. He also attended Minot State College where he graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Myron married Carol Klebe on July 8 th , 1956 in Bottineau. They made their home in Kenmare, where their three children, Keven, Karla and Kelly were born. While in Kenmare, Myron started his teaching career in middle school, teaching math and coaching. The family moved to Minot in July of 1967, when Myron joined the Internal Revenue Service. Carol died on May 7, 2016.

Myron has been a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Minot for over 50 years, where he was a member and served in a variety of roles including Financial Secretary, Elder and member of the choir.

His hobbies were hunting, golfing, bowling and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings & Twins teams.

Myron's loving family includes: children: Keven (Linda) Hayhurst of Grafton, WI, Karla (Scott) Koppi of Mesa, AZ and Kelly (Roxann) Hayhurst of Minot; grandchildren: Chad (Trista) Guttormson, Todd (Matthew) Guttormson, Emily Guttormson, Amy (Brandon) Schwarz, Austin (Mallary) Hayhurst & Adam Hayhurst; great grandchildren Weston and Finley Schwarz, Jaxston Pope, Lincoln Guttormson and Bentley Hayhurst; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn & Kelly Klebe, brother-in-law, Lester Hetland and nephews, Kraig Klebe and Kory Klebe along with several cousins.

Myron was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carol; sister, Valerie; and his parents.

A Service of Celebration and Praise: Marking the Entry of Myron Hayhurst into Christ's Heavenly Kingdom will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Minot with social distancing guidelines observed due to the COVID Pandemic.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot
Visitation : Sunday, September 27 th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot.
Memorials: preferred to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
