Obituary

Myrna Rudland , 64, Minot, formerly of Towner, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family in a Minot hospital.

Myrna was born February 6, 1947, in Minot, ND to Edward and Lois (Kuhnhenn) Haman. She was raised and educated in Towner, ND, where she graduated with the class of 1965.

Myrna was married to Tom Knudsvig on March 26, 1966 in Upham. This union was blessed with two children, Scott and Stacy. In 1979, Myrna was once married to Conrad Rudland. The blessing of a daughter, Shani came from this union.

Myrna returned to college at Moorhead State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked as a paralegal for the Domestic Violence Center in Fargo and later worked in the office of the Stark County State's Attorney in Dickinson before moving to Minot for health reasons.

Myrna kept her faith through her cancer battle and found strength with the expected arrival of a great-granddaughter. She will be deeply missed by all who did share in her life.

Myrna's surviving family includes her children, Stacy (Dean) Aberle, Minot and their children, Tia, Tanner, T.J. and Hanna; Shani Rudland, Minot and her children, Maci, Mya, Parker and Paige; Scott (Belinda) Knudsvig, Bristol, WI and their children, Ryne and Travis; mother, Lois Haman, Towner, ND; siblings, Myles Haman, Myla (Jerry) Sjong and Maureen Haman; nieces, Nikki (Shawn) Keck and Kristi (Gerald) Baumgartner; nephews, Doug (Jody) Sjong, Dean (Teresa) Sjong, David (Joy) Sjong and Daniel (Courtney) Sjong and her faithful pet companion, Jack.

Myrna was preceded in death by her father, former husband, Tom Knudsvig and grandson, Craig LaSovage.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, September 9, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Towner, ND.
Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants memorials may be sent to Trinity Hospice, American Cancer Society or to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
