MonaRay Belcher, 53, Minot died Monday, February 29, 2016 in a Minot hospital.

MonaRay was born October 1, 1962, in Minot, ND to Richard and Genevieve (Urlacher) Tompers. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Bishop Ryan Catholic School in 1980. MonaRay attended Minot State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

MonaRay was united in marriage to Steve Belcher on August 28, 1999. They made their home in Minot. She started her career at Trinity Hospital in the housekeeping department until moving into transcription services, where she worked as a service assistant for many years.

MonaRay was unable to continue her career at the hospital due to complications from an alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

Mona was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed hunting, camping and sitting on the porch enjoying the outdoors. She crocheted in her spare time and loved to spend time with her family, which included her cats. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

MonaRay's surviving family includes loving husband of 16 years, Steve Belcher, Minot, ND, children, Shauna (Vaughn) Hoffman, West Fargo, ND, Katrina Belcher, Minot, Lesa (Elliot) Larman, Devils Lake, ND and Hollie (Alec) Grande, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kaelyn and Lexi Hoffman and Levi, Emily, Landon and Logan Larman; mother, Genevieve, Minot; sister, Lea Tompers, Richmond, KY and brother, Nathan Tompers, Minot, ND.

MonaRay was preceded in death by her father, Richard Tompers.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot with fellowship and refreshments to follow at the Grand Hotel in Minot.
Interment: North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND at a later date.
Visitation: Friday, March 4, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
