Obituary

Mitchell L. Nelson, 56, Minot died on March 26, 2016 in a Minot hospital.

Mitchell was born on April 18, 1959 in Minot to Lloyd and Clarice (Corum) Nelson. He was reared and educated in Minot, graduated from Minot High School in 1979 and received training as a chef. He had been employed in the hospitality industry and most recently had been a twenty-six year employee of the Grand Hotel in Minot.

Mitch was a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot and his family fondly remembers him as "Mickey", a loving, peaceful, and gentle man.

Mitch's "family" at the Grand Hotel spoke of him as an amazing, hardworking and loyal team member who was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Royals since 1969. He enjoyed listening to music especially folk, country, 60's and British Rock (Beatles). Mitch's favorite meal included chicken-either baked, fried or BBQ, Cheetos Cheese Puffs, a nice refreshing Dr. Pepper or Sunkist Orange and a butterfinger candy bar or Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and he dreamed of traveling to Norway and Sweden both being his family heritage.

Mitchell is survived by his nieces: Kim Lakoduk Rudrud of Spring Park, MN and Tammy Lakoduk Zigrang of Carlsbad, CA; nephew: Todd Lakoduk of Carlsbad, CA; brother in law, Larry of Carlsbad, CA as well as many cousins.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd and Clarice Nelson; sister: Audrey Nelson Lakoduk and nephew: Jay Lakoduk.
