Obituary

Milton Leonard Cobb, Jr, 75, Minot died Monday, February 11, 2019 in a Minot hospital.

Milton was born at Jackson, Michigan March 9, 1943 the son of Milton, Sr. and Alice (Monterrey) Cobb. He was reared and educated in Jackson, Michigan and Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Flowing Wells High School, Tucson, AZ.

After high school, Milton enlisted in the US Army at Phoenix, AZ June 29, 1961. He completed his basic training in California. He spent his military career stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was proud of being part of the 4th Calvary. Milton would comment on being "The Eyes and Ears of the Big Red One". He was raised to the rank of PFC and earned the marksman and sharpshooter medals. He was honorably discharged June 22, 1964 at Fort Riley, KS and placed into US Army Reserves until June 28, 1967.

Milton married Mary (Frances) Cobb 1969 and to this union 6 children were born. He later married Barbara.

Milton shared a wanderlust for trying new things, jobs and places that he inherited from his mother. Milton worked as a prison guard in Jackson, Michigan. Milton enjoyed being an over the road trucker, working at Good Year tire manufacturing factory in Jackson Michigan. He worked numerous other jobs that he got tired and bored of easily. This brought him out to the Midwest and Minot, ND in 2005.

Milton's hobbies and special interests included listening and singing along to old country and western music artists, watching westerns especially Wagon Train, Gunsmoke and Bonanza, and old classic television shows on METV.

Milton was an impatient, simple and frugal man. However, to those of us who knew and loved him those were the qualities that endured his heart to ours. His smile was worth a "Million bucks" and lit it up a room.

Milton had been part of the Northland Pace Program since September 2016. Milton didn't have siblings, and being away from his children, Northland Pace staff and participants were his substitute family.

Milton never forgot about his children and he spoke of them often. Milton is survived by his son Clayton D. Cobb of Jackson, Michigan, daughter's Barbara Cobb-Miller of Coldwater, MI , Brenda Carpenter of Spring Arbor, MI , and Becky Fox of Michigan Center, Michigan.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant twin boys.
