Obituary

Milton "Bill" Breding, 93, Minot, died Monday, November 14, 2011 in a Minot hospital.

Bill was born May 31, 1918 at Powers Lake, North Dakota, the son of Bennie and Mattie (Volen) Breding. He was raised and educated at Powers Lake and graduated from high school there in 1936. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he was employed by North American Aviation for four years in their engineering department.

After living for nine years in California, Bill returned to Powers Lake, where he taught and coached basketball for two years. He then moved to Alamo, where he taught and coached for three more years. Bill began his insurance career in 1950, selling insurance for Franklin Life Insurance Company.

Bill was united in marriage to Alyce Breding on October 29, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where Bill sold insurance until retiring in 2003. Alyce died November 27, 2002.

Bill and Alyce were active members at First Baptist Church, where he served on the board of Deacons, sang in the church choir and were members of the Church's XYZ Senior group. Bill was a member of Kiwanis Club, Minot and MAIFA (Minot Area Insurance Financial Advisors). Bill enjoyed reading, exercising, hunting and fishing. He and Alyce were active in a Scrabble club and over the years had traveled extensively throughout the United States.

His loving family includes, son, Bryan Breding, Minot and daughter, Kimberly Kimmel, Friendswood, TX; grandchildren, Michael and Jeffrey; brothers, Vernon (Betty) Breding, Powers Lake, ND, Joel Breding, Los Angeles, CA, Kenneth Breding, Minneapolis, MN and Melbert (Avis) Breding, Bismarck, ND.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Alyce.

Funeral service : Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Minot.

Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorial: In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials to First Baptist Church, Minot.
