Obituary

Mideyn L. Fontaine, 75, 1404 11th Street S.W. Minot, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in a Mesa, Arizona Medical Center.

Mideyn was born September 19, 1931 at East Grand Forks, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Laura (Odegard) Stein. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Grand Forks, where she was raised and educated, except for three years that the family lived in Alameda, California. The family returned to Grand Forks, where Mideyn graduated from Central High School in 1949. That fall, she entered the Deaconess School of Nursing in Grand Forks, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse.

Mideyn worked as an Assistant night supervisor, until she was united in marriage to Leonel "Lynn" Fontaine on December 30, 1956. They made their home in Minot, where she worked for a year at the John Moses Veterans Hospital, until her oldest son was born. In 1960, she started employment as an RN at the Lutheran Home, which later became Trinity Homes. She served as Evening Supervisor, and the last five years as Director of Nursing, until retiring in July of 1987. Lynn died February 19, 2005. Mideyn had lived the last several months in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Mideyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot, where she served as a Deacon for four years. She had been a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Alameda, CA, where she was confirmed. She was a member of Trinity Auxiliary and the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and volunteering in the Trinity Homes Gift Shop.

Her loving family includes : Sons, Stuart Fontaine, Minot and Kevin Fontaine and his fiancé Jen Mielke, Queen Creek, AZ; Grandchildren, Ryan, Kayleigh, Alex, Tanner, Erin, Mikayla, Maxwell, Lee and Courtney; Fourteen nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lynn, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service : Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment
: ND Veterans Cemetery, Rural Mandan.
Visitation
: Tuesday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the ND Veterans Cemetery or First Presbyterian Church.
