Obituary

Michelle Kay Larson, 51, Minot and longtime Minot High School business teacher died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in a Minot hospital.

Michelle was born on October 16, 1960 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Frank and Judy (Laskowski) Flom. She was reared in McKinley Township of Ward County northeast of Minot and attended school in Minot. She graduated from Minot High School in 1978 and from Minot State University in 1982 with a degree in business education and marketing and attained her Master of Science degree in Management in 2001.

Michelle married Jeff Larson on June 20, 1986 in Minot. The Larson family has made their home in Minot where Michelle has been employed as a business teacher at Minot High School since 1986. In addition to her teaching responsibilities she was the DECA, FBLA and Senior Class advisor and sold tickets at numerous MHS events. Her love of people brought her to part-time employment at Herberger's and Lowe's Garden Center.

Michelle was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was a member and currently serving as secretary of the church council. She especially enjoyed flower gardening, reading, walking, baking but her passion was her family who were always number one on her priority list. She can best be described by the following adjectives: caring, giving, generous and loving.

Michelle's loving family includes her husband of 26 years Jeff; children: Matthew and McKenna both of Minot; parents: Frank and Judy Flom of Minot; siblings: Susan (Jim) Coffin and Brad (Shelley) Flom all of Minot; mother-in-law: Bonnie Larson of Minot; in-laws: Mike (LeAnne) Larson of Makoti, Mark (Denise) Larson of Minot, Shelley (Bob) Condon of Charlotte NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father-in-law: Allen Larson.

Celebration of Michelle's Life: Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church Minot.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park Minot.

Visitation: Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.

Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund.
