Michael Dobowey , 79, longtime Max area farmer, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in a Bismarck Hospital.
Michael was born March 1, 1941 at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Mike and Luella (Vitko) Dobowey. He was raised and educated in Max and graduated from Max High School in 1959. He then went on to start his lifelong career of farming.
Michael was united in marriage to Agnes Christenson on October 4, 1975 at Crestview Baptist Church, Minot. They made their home on the family farm in McLean County. Along with raising their 3 children, they were dedicated to raising small grains and beef cattle.
Michael was a member of First Baptist Church, Minot, where he served the Church as a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed hunting and ice fishing, along with listening to Minnesota Twins or NDSU Bison football games while combining. In his later years, Michael took up painting and collecting antique toy tractors and combines. His true love and passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of each one of them, rarely missing any of their events.
Michael's loving family includes , his wife of 45 years, Agnes, Max; children, Jonathan (Kate) Dobowey, St. Cloud, MN; Naomi (Chris) Michels, Bismarck, ND, Matthew (Brittni) Dobowey, Max; 12 grandchildren to include, Annika, Addison, Asher, & Austin Dobowey; Boaz, Elizabeth, Selah & Simeon Michels; Laken, Ava, Luke & Rhett Dobowey; sister, Kathryn (Jim) Kovalenko, Ruso, ND; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Betty.
Public Celebration of Life service : Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Minot.

Public Visitation : Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church.
Public Prayer service : Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Church.
Public Graveside service : Friday at 4:00 p.m. in Max Baptist Cemetery, rural Max.
Memorials are preferred to Samaritans Purse or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
