Michael James Dehnke , 57, Logan, died November 26, 2018 in a Minot hospital.
Michael was born October 28, 1961, in Hudson, Wisconsin to Gordon and Livona (Sanders) Dehnke. He grew up in Logan and attended school in Minot graduating from Minot High School in 1979.
Michael spent his working life as an iron worker high above the landscape across the United States. He gained experience with Tom F. Kirkman, Inc. learning the trade until joining the family business with his father, Gordon Dehnke and All State Tower Service in 1985. They worked in every facet of tower building and maintenance across the country often taking summer vacations amongst tower jobs. They retired from service in 2014.
Michael was blessed with a daughter, Elizabeth in April of 1994. They lived in Logan and he supported her activities, talents and dreams. Mike was a lover of music and spent his school years in band, where he excelled in playing the trumpet. He loved to fly kites with Rollie Metz and valued time spent with his many friends in his 'man cave.' He will be missed by all who shared in his life.
Michael was a member of the Local #512 Ironworker's Union and Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, both of Minot.
Michael is survived by his mother, Livona, Logan; sisters, Lynda Dehnke and Janet (Paul) Franz, both of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Page and Julia Franz; aunt, Fern (Glenn) Emmons of Minnesota and uncle, Alvin (Phyllis) Dehnke, Weyburn, Saskatchewan along with many cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth and father, Gordon.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot.
