Michael J. Andersen, 50, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 in his Minot home.
Michael was born January 1, 1962 in San Diego, CA. He moved with his family to San Mateo in the San Francisco Bay area and later to San Bernardino, CA where he attended San Bernardino High School. In the 1980's he joined the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician based out of Whidbey Island, WA. He served aboard the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy and the U.S.S. Saratoga during the Iran Contra Affair.
After leaving the Navy Michael returned to CA where he worked at many jobs, most recently as a roofer for Bradshaw Roofing in San Bernardino, CA, an electronics sales person at Boat U.S. in San Diego, CA and the Foreman of Technical Services for Q.E.D. Systems, Inc. in San Diego, CA.
Michael moved to Minot, ND in 2009 to aid in caring for his ill father-in-law giving up his career.
His loving family includes his wife of 13 years, Kristine Segarra, Minot; sister, Andrea (Michael) Coad, San Diego; brother Douglas (Lenee) Meek, Stevenson Ranch, CA,; stepson, Steven (Madison) Weinreich, Ontario, CA; stepdaughters, Jessica Segarra, Pomona, CA and Amanda Segarra, Killeen, TX; brother-in-law, Mark Weinreich, Minot, ND; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Randall) Feist, Elk Grove, CA. Michael also has 3 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Andersen and father-in-law, Harold Weinreich.
No services will be held in Minot. Service will be held at a later date in San Diego, CA.
