Melvin Watson, 60, Minot, died Friday, November 11, 2016 in a Minot hospital.

Melvin was born on January 7, 1956 in California to Benjamin and Mevelin Watson. He was raised and educated in Los Angeles, CA, graduating from Locke High School.

Following high school, he was united in marriage to Tamara. They made their home in Los Angeles. From this union, three children were born.

Melvin moved to Little Rock, AR, where he was employed as a chef. Later he moved to Minot in 2010, to be closer to his best friend, David Henry. He continued working as a chef for various places including, Denny's, Grand International Hotel and Kroll's Diner.

Being a music lover, you could often find him listening to music, especially his favorite 80's old school R&B.

Melvin is survived by his daughters: Michel'le Watson, Los Angeles, CA, Toni Watson, Minot, ND and Terri Watson, Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Xavier Green, Anthony Johnson and Tori Haris; mother: Sylvia Gray, Los Angeles, CA; sister: Aiesha Watson, Little Rock, AR and best friend: David Henry, Minot.

Melvin is preceded in death by his father.

Services will be held at a later date in California.
