Obituary

MaryAnn Snow Kabaker , 91, of Columbus, formerly of Minot and Grand Forks died on Sunday, May7, 2023 in a Minot hospital.

MaryAnn was born on September 9, 1931in Grand Forks to Karen Ellen Marie Schultz-Hunt. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks. After graduation her mother took her to New York City because of her singing, dancing and piano -playing talents. She performed in many plays on Broadway with her most noteworthy part being back-up to Carol Channing in the Broadway Musical "Hello Dolly". During this time, she was married for a short time to a fellow Broadway dancer with the last name Snow. After their divorce she moved to Washington D.C. where she was employed as a government worker. She especially enjoyed her job as a diplomatic aid to politicians attending special dinners with dignitaries such as Henry Kissinger.

Following her retirement, she married Ray Kabaker and they made their home in the Palm Springs, CA area and bought a house in Columbus which was once occupied by her grandfather. After Ray's death in the early I990's she moved to Minot, ND where she lived her dream of purchasing a barn and horse facility and bought her first horse, Magic. She moved back to Columbus, ND and made arrangements to board her horse at the Dan and Debi Hanson farm in the Crosby/Ambrose area. This resulted in a life -long friendship where she was always included in family holidays and dinners. It was during this time that she decided to finish her education through correspondence courses from the University of North Dakota. While at a UND class reunion she rekindled an old relationship with Bill O'Grady. The couple resided in Columbus before moving to Bandera, Texas with her horse in tow. In 2014, Bill passed away so MaryAnn returned to Columbus where she resided until her death.

MaryAnn was an animal lover, especially fond of horses, cats and dogs especially her last dog "Foxy".

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, several cousins and has no

known survivors.

Cremation will take place and interment will be in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery – rural Noonan.
