Mary was born on December 3, 1923 in Regina, Saskatchewan; Canada to William and Mary (Campbell) Cameron. Mary spent her youth in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan where she graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, she enlisted in the Canadian Army. During World War II she provided support services out of Ottawa, Ontario before returning to Regina. During those years, Mary became good friends with many school administrators and teachers. In 1959, their only child Karen was born. For the next 18 years, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and John continued his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad retiring as the assistant Fargo area engineer. John passed away in 1993 and Mary continued to live in Minot until the time of her death.
Mary and John enjoyed fishing with friends and spending time at the Eagles, American Legion and VFW clubrooms.
