Mary Kongelf Soltis, 95, Minot, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 in a Minot nursing home.

Mary Agnes was born on March 18, 1925 in Minot to Charles and Julia (Susak) Hambek. She was reared on the family farm north of Minot and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1942.

Mary was once married to Robert Kongelf. Later, she was employed as a secretary at MDU and Blesener Olds and at the Ward County Jail. Mary was once married to Ed Soltis.

Mary attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and she especially enjoyed reading, stained glass art projects and crafts as well as sewing. However, her number one passion was her grandchildren.

Mary's loving family includes her Children: Richard (Cris) Kongelf of Los Altos Hills, CA, Terry (Bev) Kongelf of Minot, Rod (Sandy) Kongelf of Minot; Grandchildren: Michael (Navrina) Kongelf, Katie Kongelf (Phil Lundy), Steven Kongelf (Diana Martinez), Kimberly (Lee) Hofkens, Erin (Wyatt) Grindy and Jessica Kongelf; Great Grandchildren: Ziya and Bennett and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Leo, Walter, and Charlie.

Private Celebration of the Life of Mary Kongelf Soltis: Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Public Visitation: Monday, December 21, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
