Mary Agnes Juergens , 90, Minot, formerly of Barton, ND, died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Mary was born July 19, 1934, at Grandma Sveum's house in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Edwin and Olga (Sveum) Thingvold. She was raised on the family farm near Barton with her 13 siblings. She attended school at South Valley Country School, Barton School, and graduated from Rolette High School in 1952.
Her first job after high school was at the Rolette Hospital/Clinic in Dr. Cook's office.
Mary was united in marriage to Leo Juergens Jr. on May 22, 1960, in Barton, ND. Leo always said that the church was so full, there were people standing outside on their wedding day. They made their home in Minot, ND, where she was employed with NW Sales and Service and later with MDU for over 36 years. She retired from MDU in 1996.
Mary was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot. She was active with the Quota Club, Girl Scouts, and United Way. She dedicated countless hours to the Meals on Wheels program, always lugging along nieces and nephews. You could also catch her on the golf carts while she was part of the committee for the Festival in the Parks for over 30 years.
After retiring, Mary and Leo enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. She had a knack for picking seashells at the local beach. She also enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, crocheting and doing latch hook. Leo passed away December 27, 2018.
Mary's loving family includes: her siblings, Gordon Thingvold, Rolette; Carol Torgerson, Bismarck; Dennis (Diane) Thingvold, Minot; Norma (Ron) Klebe, Willow City; sisters-in-law Martha Thingvold, Sandy Thingvold, and Ruth Juergens; brother-in-law Wes (Judy) Juergens; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Leo; sisters, Ann Dissette, Delores Johnson, Dorothy Blessum, Gladys Thingvold; brothers, Edward, Alton, James, Donald, and Rudolph "Rudy" Thingvold; sisters-in-law, Jennell Thingvold, Janet Thingvold, Marlys Thingvold, and Julie Juergens; brothers-in-law, Leroy Dissette, Albin Johnson, Stanley "Bud" Carlile, Larry Torgerson, Curtis Juergens, Richard Juergens.
Funeral Service:
Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot. To watch a delayed streaming of the service access

Interment:
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation:
Sunday, December 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
