Marvin Pedersen , 90, Velva, died on Thursday, November 20, 2025 in a Velva nursing home.

Marvin Melvin Pedersen was born on December 11, 1934 in Anamoose, ND to Melvin and Augustine (Goll) Pedersen.  He was raised on the family farm and educated in Martin, ND.  Marvin enlisted in the Army National Guard on December 4, 1963 and served with the 2nd Engineering Platoon Company A of the 231st Engineers Battalion based in Harvey, North Dakota prior to his honorable discharge on July 1, 1966.

Marvin married Angeline J. Martin on March 11, 1966 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, ND.  They made their home in Voltaire prior to moving to Velva in 1968.  Marvin was employed by the Soo Line Railroad before beginning employment as a lineman at Verendrye Electric in 1966.  He continued in that capacity until he retired in 1996. Angeline died on March 5, 2018.  Marvin continued to reside in Velva, most recently at the Souris Valley Care Center for the past two years.

Marvin was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church and American Legion both Velva and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local #1593. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also found joy in hunting, fishing, horseback riding, baking, dancing, listening to polka music and having coffee with friends.

Marvin's loving family includes his children: Nancy (Mike) Lucy of Minot, Sandra Fruhling of Velva and Myron (Bonnie) Pedersen of Velva; grandchildren: Samantha (Ryan) Rasmusson, Ashley (Mike) Little, Haddie (Dylan) Adams, Jocelyn (Brandon) Barrett, Seth Fruhling, Lacee Fruhling, McKenzie, Hayley, Kady, Emma, and Mason Pedersen; great grandchildren: Lincoln, Jett and Sophie Rasmusson, Levi Little and Lainey Adams; siblings: Stanley (Lorraine) Pedersen of Harvey and Leonard (Sheila) Pedersen of Velva and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 51 years.

Interment will be in the Velva Community Cemetery

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Memorials are preferred to Souris Valley Care Center, Velva and Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.
