Martin Clouse, 87, Rural Foxholm, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 in a Minneapolis, MN Hospital.
Martin was born February 24, 1922 on the family farm near Foxholm, North Dakota, the son of William and Julia (Haider) Clouse. He was raised on the family farm and educated at Foxholm. During his younger years, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp.
Martin was united in marriage to Helen Angelo on October 18, 1948 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
They made their home on the farm near Foxholm, where they farmed throughout the years.
Helen died January 4, 1960. Martin continued to make his home on the farm, where he loved to be outdoors working with the soil and caring for his trees. He was an excellent example of being a steward of the land.
Martin was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxholm. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, along with cooking and baking.
His loving family includes : Children: Cecilia Clouse, Bismarck, Edward Clouse and James Clouse, both of Foxholm and Leonard Clouse, Minot; Granddaughters: Bonnie, Holly and Melissa; A number of Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Catherine (Harold) Kostenko, Minot and Mary McCarthy, Selah, WA; Sister-in-law: Evelyn Clouse, Carpio; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Janice, sisters, Rosina, Theresa and Helen Clouse, Anna Boomer, Elizabeth Claypole; brothers, William, Paul, Joseph, Bernard and Francis.
Mass of Christian Burial:
Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxholm.
Vigil Prayer Service:
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. (Please note time change) in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm.
Visitation:
Wednesday from 2:00-7:00p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers or plants to an organization of the donor's choice.
