Marlene Pankow, 88, longtime Minot resident died on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in a Minot assisted living facility.
Marlene Jean Klimpel was born on March 3, 1932 in Minot to Elmer and Nelva (Anderson) Klimpel. She was raised on a farm near Sawyer, ND; attended rural schools and graduated from Minot High School in 1949.
Marlene married Jack Pankow on December 28, 1951 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. Jack was a longtime Minot financial consultant and insurance agent. They were the parents of Michael, Jody and Kevin and resided at 1820 7 th Street S.W. - Minot for many years. Jack died on June 15, 2003. Marlene had continued to reside in Minot, most recently at Unsong's Assisted Living Home.
Marlene was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot and enjoyed baking, especially sweet treats such as divinity, chocolate chip cookies and her world famous scotcheroos.
Marlene's loving family includes her children: Michael (Cheri) Pankow and Jody (Steven) Fogarty all of Minot; six grandchildren: Sarah (Joseph) Mujule, Emily (Joey) Nesdahl, Kati (Marrick) Reed, Staci (Nate) Blume, Evan Fogarty (Brandy Belt) and Betsy Fogarty; seven great grandchildren: Levi and Micah Mujule, Jack and Henry Nesdahl, Trent, Drake and Milah Blume; sister: Lavon (Don) Sandvold of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son: Kevin.
A Private Celebration of the Life of Marlene Pankow will take place at Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot. The service will be livestreamed at

Public Graveside Service: Friday, May 22, 2020 at 11:45 a.m. in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Public Visitation (please observe social distancing recommendations): Thursday, May 21, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or Metigoshe Ministries.
