Obituary

Marlene A. Anderson, 73, Minot, formerly of Coulee, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Marlene was born October 15, 1938 on the family farm in Sidonia Township of Mountrail County, North Dakota, the daughter of Oscar and Olga (Erickson) Haugen. She was raised on the farm west of Coulee and attended country school in that area. She graduated from Kenmare High School in 1958, and later attended Business College in Minot.

Marlene was united in marriage to Kenneth Anderson on September 10, 1966 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she was employed with JC Penney in a number of departments, primarily in the business office. Kenneth died December 24, 2011. Marlene retired this year on March 9th.

Marlene was a longtime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot and it's LWML, as well as the Women of the Moose Lodge.

Marlene's family includes, daughter, Melissa Anderson of Rugby; sister, Edith Webster, Minot, brothers, Erwin Haugen, Palermo and Gordon Haugen, Donnybrook along with dozens of nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, 9 brothers and 6 sisters.

Funeral service : Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Friday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice.
