Marjorie Wood, 89, Minot died on Monday, April 5, 2010 in a Minot nursing home.
Margie was born on December 4, 1920 in Elbowoods, ND to Clarence and Hartie (Weintz) Wood. She was reared on a farm near Minot and attended Campus Elementary School, and graduated from Model High School. She attended Minot State Teachers College and completed schooling for physical therapy at the University of Minnesota. She was employed for several years as a physical therapist.
Margie returned to Minot in 1955 and was employed in the office of her family's business, Minot Sand and Gravel Company until her retirement in 1976.
Margie was a longtime member of First Baptist Church -Minot and was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Margie's loving family includes her brother: Tom (Erna) Wood of Minot; sister-in-law: Lillian Wood of Jamestown; nieces: Ruth (David) Kopp of Minot, Karen (Roger) Crocker of Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, Joyce (Dan) Childers of Montague, CA, Dianne (Doug) Brendsel of Maxbass, Helen (Rev. Paul) Williamson of Aurora, CO, Barb (Allen) Entzel of Jamestown, Peggy (Gary) Isaacs, Broddy Park, MN, Ruth Finley of CA, Kathy (Rev. Dale) Carlson of Stanwood, Wash, and Carol (Dale) Dalbey of Williston; nephews: John (Darlene) Carlson of Jamestown, Ken (Patty) Carlson of Bismarck, Duane (Dawn) Carlson of Owatonna, Minn., Ray (Elaine) Carlson of Minot, Doug Carlson of Shelby, NC, Tim (Jan) Wood of Billings, Mont., Keith (Iracema) Wood of St. Paul, Minn., David Wood, Lewiston, Mont., and Allen (Wendy) Wood of Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law: Iva and Edwin Carlson, sister: Mary Wood and brothers: James Wood, who died in infancy, and Eugene Wood sisters-in-law: Esther Wood and Hilda Wood, as well as a nephew: Bruce Wood.
Funeral Service:
Friday, April 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church - Minot.
Interment
will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to First Baptist Church, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Wycliffe Bible Translators and Steer Inc.
