Marjorie Dorothy Ramsay, 70, Largo, FL and formerly of Minot and Dickinson died on Monday, July 11, 2016 in a Clearwater FL hospital from complications related to Uterine Cancer.
Marjorie was born on November 14, 1945 in Dickinson, ND to Frank and Dorothy (Kubas) Meduna. She was reared and educated in Dickinson and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1963.
Marjorie married Albert Thurlow Jr. in July of 1965 and they were the parents of two sons: Albert III and Jeffrey. They made their home at various air force bases throughout the world including Oklahoma, Greece, California, Kansas, Germany and Minot. Marjorie and Albert were divorced in 1983. Marjorie, who came to Minot in 1976, was employed at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch for thirty years. Marjorie married Robert Ramsay of Minot on August 28, 1992 in Minot. She retired in 2010 ending a very rewarding career that she dearly loved.
After retirement, Marjorie and Bob spent the winter months in Florida. She loved spending time with her sons and their families in Florida, Washington and California and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Also, they owned property on Lake Sakakawea where they enjoyed fishing and visiting with their lake friends. Marjorie was an avid golfer and gardener and enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.
Marjorie's loving family includes her husband: Bob; sons: Albert Thurlow III "Albie" of Largo FL and Jeffrey Thurlow of Yucca Valley, CA; grandchildren: Emily, Gavin and Emerson; sister: Bernice "Bernie" Obrigewitch of Bismarck; sister-in-law: Carol (Gary) Hovdestad of Minot and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law: Urban Obrigewitch.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church - Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
