Marjorie Berdell Lewis, 82, Minot and formerly of rural Ryder died on Monday, September 26, 2016 in a Minot healthcare center.
Marjorie Berdell Lewis was born on November 28, 1933 on a farm near Ryder, ND to Benjamin and Elsie (Mueller) Lewis. She was baptized on January 30, 1934 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ryder, reared on the family farm, educated in Ryder, moved to Minot in 1944, attended the Minnesota School for the Blind in Fairbault, MN for two summers, graduated from Minot High School in 1951, moved to Valley City in 1953 and returned to Minot in 1961. She has been disabled by blindness due to a brain tumor since she was four years old. She had been a resident of Minot Health and Rehab since October 1, 2001.
Marjorie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Minot and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church Ryder. Due to her visual impairment, she especially enjoyed listening to country music and western movies and eating chocolate ice cream.
Marjorie is survived by several cousins and her friend Jean Krumwiede.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Dorothy Higgins.
Funeral Service: Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Minot.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
