Obituary

Marjorie Evelyn Larson, 88, Minot, formerly of Sawyer, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 in a Minot Hospital.

Marjorie was born June 23, 1925 on the family farm near Sawyer, North Dakota the daughter of Jake and Katie (Sugojasky) Galamaga. She was raised on the farm and educated at country schools near Sawyer. She attended Business College in Minot and was employed at Boeing as a riveter during wartime in Seattle throughout her younger years.


She was united in marriage to Donald E. Larson on March 16, 1957 at Mandan. They made their home in Minot throughout the years, where she raised their five children.


Marjorie enjoyed sewing, doing embroidery work, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She enjoyed a friendly game of cards, along with spending time with friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.


Her loving family includes, husband of fifty-six years, Don; daughters, Colette (Al Benson) Sheehan, Minot, Carol (Dennis) Underside, Manteno, IL; daughter in law, Cindy (Lenny Buckentin) Larson, Cross Lake, MN; son in law, Norm Smith, Tucson, AZ; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, children, Don Jr, Shirley Smith and Jennifer McAllister; grandchildren, Tina Ruda, and Johnny Eckhoff; sisters, Polly Buechler and Ann Krueger, along with an infant brother.

Funeral service: Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
