Marjorie Larson, 92, Kenmare formerly of Donnybrook, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 in her daughter's home.
Marjorie Ruth Holte was born on August 1, 1928 on the family farm in Voltaire, ND to Melvin and Ruth (Chilson) Holte. She was raised in Voltaire and graduated from Velva High School in 1946.
Marjorie attended Minot State Teaching College for 8 weeks and earned her teaching certificate to teach in a country school. After receiving her teaching certificate she taught at North Prairie School. She continued her education and received her Standard Teaching Certificate. While attending college Marjorie met Verlund Larson. They were married on August 1, 1949 and following their marriage they made their home near Aurelia, ND where they raised small grains and cattle.
Marjorie continued her teaching career at Tagus, White Earth, and Donnybrook. She taught until 1957 when they started their family. She was a substitute teacher and taught spring kindergarten until 1976 when she became the school secretary and the business manager at the Donnybrook School. The school closed in 1992.
Marjorie was an active member of the Donnybrook American Legion Auxiliary. Marjorie loved to garden and was known for her home cooked meals. The coffee pot was always on and baked goods were ever present on her table.
Marjorie's loving family includes: daughter, Jill (Craig) Neuenfeld, Kenmare; sons, Cory Larson, Donnybrook; Kevin (Jeanne) Larson, Harwood; grandchildren, Derrick, Matthew, and Kari (Brad Hoskin) Neuenfeld, Claire Engh, Kyla and Jordan Larson; sisters, Delores Ust, Lois Irwin, and Audrey (Howard) Lahlum and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verlund, son Kent, brothers Harold and Richard.

Friday, November 6, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
