Marjorie Elaine Zietlow, 85, longtime Minot area resident, died Sunday, March 22, 2020.
Margie was born September 27, 1934 at Minot, the daughter of Henry and Hannah (Johnson) Hanson. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1952. During her younger years, she was employed at Strand Theater in downtown Minot.
Margie was united in marriage to Donald Zietlow on June 26, 1953 in Minot. They made their home in Minot for a short time, prior to moving to the family farm in Afton Township of Ward County, where they farmed throughout the years and raised their four children. In addition to her life on the farm, Margie also worked for Northern States Power Company, Morelli's Distributing and later with the Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch. Donald died July 4, 1987.
Margie continued to live on the farm until 2001, when she moved into Minot.
Margie was a longtime and active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot until it was merged into Christ Lutheran Church after the flood of 2011. Her hobbies and interests included crocheting, sewing, gardening, baking and bowling. During her earlier years, she was active in a homemaker's group and served as a 4-H leader.
Margie is survived by : children, David (Susan) Zietlow, Minot; Dodie (Curt) Hagel, Omaha, Neb, Darcie (Joe) Haider, Minot; son in law, Eldon Wold, Minot; 9 grandchildren to include: Desidy (Jason) Rohrer, Mindy (Josh) Fulsebakke, David Jr. (Tabitha) Zietlow & Adam Zietlow; Raya Hagel; Jayden (Heather) Wold & Brian Wold and his companion, April; Micaela Haider & Alexis Haider; 10 great grandchildren to include: Ben, Gabbi, Langdon, Oakley, Elliott, Kaiden, Tatum, Jacksen, Hunter and Rayanne; siblings: Helen Bonebrake, Minot, Virginia (Jack) Trousdale, Dallas, TX, Fred (Linell) Hanson, Bismarck, ND, Rodney (Marlene) Hanson, Bismarck ND, Richard (Margaret) Hanson, Lakeside, AZ, Tom (Janet) Hanson, Minot, Marti (Frank) Misuraca, Minot; sister in law, Shawnanne Hanson, Minot.
Margie was preceded in death by: her parents; husband of 34 years, Donald; daughter, Debbie Wold; brothers, Donald Hanson & his wife, Edith and Russell Hanson.
