Obituary

Marilyn Faye (Doman) Moore, 76, longtime Minot resident, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the home of her daughter, in Tucson, Ariz. It was a blessing to have her at home to the end, just as Mom was able to do with Dad.

Marilyn was born May 11, 1932, on the family farm near Kramer, the first child of Paul and Vera (Anderson) Doman. Shortly after the birth of their second child, Warren, Vera died. Paul later married Mona Kromrey. As a family, they moved to Minot in 1941. Marilyn graduated from Minot High School in 1950, and on July 29th of that same year, was united in marriage to Leroy Robert "Bob" Moore. They lived the rest of their married years in Minot, until Bob died on Nov. 14, 1998.

Marilyn began her lengthy employment with Trinity Hospital while still in junior high school. With the exception of taking a few years off while her children were young, she remained there until her retirement in 1996. Her co-workers and the volunteers at the hospital were truly her second family and she loved them and talked about them until the end.

Marilyn was a second-generation member of Bethany Lutheran Church until her move to Tucson five years ago. Her church family in Minot was very special to her and she often said that was one of the hardest things about moving from North Dakota.

Marilyn lived her entire life, right up to the end, with dignity and purpose. She loved gardening and had one of the nicest yards in Minot. In Tucson, she did not have a large yard, but had outstanding roses. She treasured her family time and everyone knows how she cared for her husband, who had lived with ill health for so many years. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble; just one week before her death she scored 274 points with one word, "boy was she tickled."

Marilyn is survived by: her son, Randy Moore, Tucson; daughter, Kim Hackbarth, Tucson; brother, Warren (Sharon) Doman, Tucson; In Minot, her granddaughters, Toni Simard (Misty Van Ockler), Julie Simard (Mike Nelson), Sacha Wilson (Mike), as well as eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and the family's four-legged brother, Petey, the Pug, age 13.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; father, Paul; mother, Vera; and stepmother, Mona
