Marilyn Jo Ann Twite, 75, Grand Forks, formerly of Lake of the Ozarks, MO and St. Marie, MT, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at her granddaughter's home at Minot Air Force Base.
Marilyn was born on August 26, 1933 in Greeley, Colorado to Virgil and Dora (Carter) Harvey. She was brought up and educated in Fort Collins, CO and received her high school diploma in 1969 from Desert High School at Edwards AFB in California along with her son, Bill. Marilyn married Jack Twite on September 2, 1949 in Cheyenne, WY. They made their home at various communities and bases associated with the U.S. Air Force, where she was employed as a daycare provider and was proud of being a military wife. Jack died in September of 1998. Marilyn moved to Grand Forks in 1999 to live with her daughter, Connie and Steve Berry and earlier this year moved to Minot Air Force Base to be cared for and live with her granddaughter, Holly and Scott Thoms.
Marilyn was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she especially enjoyed listening to music, spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and caring for others. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos NFL football team.
Marilyn's family includes her children: Jack (Kathy) Twite of Clovis, NM, Connie (Steve) Berry of Grand Forks and Cindy (Gordon) Sturgis of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren: Jack Jr., Aaron and Teddy Twite; Steven Berry Jr. and Holly Thoms; Donald McKenrick, Jo Ann Rountree and Leah and Julie Sturgis; great grandchildren: Christopher, Angel and Skylar; Madison; Brandon James, Jackie, Brandon Scott, Maison, and Daniel; Cayden; Kyle, Kaylee, and Aurora; Sisters: Carol Beccera of Florida and Sue Watson of Nebraska as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, parents, sisters, Betty Kingsley, Barbara Hunzelman, and Louise Harvey, and brothers, Ray, Larry, Russell, and Walter.
Funeral Service
: Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minot;
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND;
Visitation:
Monday, October 13, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
