Marie Woodall , 81, Minot, formerly of Granville/Deering, died Thursday, December 12, 2019 in a Minot assisted living facility.
Marie Francis (Heinrich) Woodall the daughter of Frank and Johanna (Schatz) Heinrich was born on May 30, 1938 in Rugby, North Dakota. She was raised in the Towner area and attended Towner High School.
In the late 1970's she was co-owner of the Sore Thumb Lounge, in Granville, ND.
On January 16, 1982, she married Duane Woodall and they made their home on the family farm northwest of Granville. Marie and Duane also spent some winter months at their home in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Marie was an active member of the Hope Congregational Church, Church's Women's Society and Granville OES Chapter #47. She was also very active in bowling and pool leagues and Magic Squares, a square dancing club. Marie enjoyed hunting, sewing, needle point and reading. She also loved baking and cooking for her family and knew everyone's favorite dish.
In April 2019, Marie moved into Elmcroft Senior Living in Minot. She loved being there with all of her old and new friends.
Marie is survived by her brother, Larry (Diane) Heinrich, Towner, sister-in-law, Connie Heinrick and family, Towner, step-children, Douglas (Darnell) Woodall, Granville, Cynthia (Robert) Haga, Granville, Cathy Kunkel, Granville, Susan Sharp, Bismarck, David (Kathy) Woodall, Granville and Melanie (Alan) Elverud, Leeds, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane, brother, Wayne, nephew Roger Heinrick, 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Celebration of Life Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2019 at Hope Congregational Church (UCC), Granville.
Interment: Granville Community Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation: Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Minot.
