Marie Julia Whorley , 77, Minot, formerly of Surrey & Towner, Passed away Thursday September 20th 2018 in a Minot Hospital.

Marie was born July 21, 1941, near Surrey ND to Henry and Eunice (Lund) Hamilton. She grew up in rural Minot and attended school in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1959.

Marie was once married to Jerry Whorley. She lived in Iowa for a time and returned to rural Minot in 1975. She lived in Surrey for 19 Years and Towner for the past 12 years. Recently, she moved back to Minot.

She spent her working life primarily as an office clerk for Motor Service and various other businesses. She worked as a waitress for several restaurants and most recently was a cashier for Cenex.

Marie loved horses, countryside living and tending to her garden, geese, rabbits and other farm animals. She collected all types of horse memorabilia and was known to enjoy playing cards, crocheting, knitting, sewing among other interests. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Marie's loving family includes daughters, Rhonda (Tom) Johnson, Minot, ND and Renita (Cecil) Blackburn, Towner, ND; grandchildren, Johnnie Jarvis IV, Christopher Jarvis, Mitchell Whorley, Carrie Whorley, Zachery Sveund, Amber Melchert; great grandchildren, Ollie, Ami, Ethan, Naudia, Kylah, Konner, Lillyan, Logan, Caine, Travis and Elijah; sister, Adeline (Donavon) Newnam, Minot; brother, Garold (LuAnn) Hamilton Minot; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hamilton, Minot; uncle, Leonard Lund along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended Whorley family.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Eunice Hamilton; daughters, Ramona Whorley and Rebecca Moen; granddaughter, Jessicca Moen; siblings, Daniel, Ruth, Lyle, David, Loren and sister-in-law, Janice Hamilton.
