Marie Francis Kluck, 89, Minot and formerly of the Wahpeton and Breckenridge area died on Monday September 17, 2007 in a Minot hospital.

Marie was born on September 8, 1918, near Wahpeton, ND to Francis and Elsie (Formanek) Schmidt. She was raised on a farm near Wahpeton and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1936. Marie married Cyril J. Kluck on September 12, 1939 in Wahpeton. They made their home in Wahpeton prior to moving to Doran, MN. Following Cy's discharge from the U.S. Army they made their home in Breckenridge, MN. The family moved to Minot in 1954 where Marie was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. They had resided at 1624 5th St. S.W. for many years. Cy died on July 6, 2000.

Marie was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a member of the V.F.W., Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus and American Legion Auxiliaries and volunteered at Bishop Ryan High School and the Red Cross. She especially enjoyed gardening, fishing, canning, cooking, and baking.

Marie's loving family includes: Daughters: Carol (Gene) Hefter of Coon Rapids MN; Charlotte (John) Ross, Donna Lawson, Sharon (Gary) Smith and Gerolyn (Steve) Schaan all of Minot; Beverly (Dick) Stoffels of Woodbury, MN and Kathy (Rod) Holter of Hartland WI; Sons: Wayne (Linda) Kluck of Bismarck and Glen (Kathy) Kluck of Minot; Son-in-Law: Robert Vogel of Fridley MN; Thirty-seven Grandchildren: Robert and Chris Vogel, Susan Anderson, Brenda Nordman, Darcy Block, Christine Williams, Wade Hefter, Stacie Sahhar, Shellie Buriak, Teri McDaniel, Scott, and Danny Lawson, Travis, Jason, Nathan, and Heather Smith, Chanda Klug, Angie, Jessica, and Ali Kluck, Rachel and Andrea Kluck, Lindsey, Brittany, and Jordan Hagan, Nicole Hornickel, Sara, Megan, and Kyle Holter, Manda, Joey, Kale, and Hannah Schaan, Andrea, Dan, Mike, and Lauren Stoffels; Thirty-eight Great Grandchildren: Julia, Olivia, Abby, Jack, Cassidy, and Emily Vogel, Kaitlyn, Holly, and Tessa Anderson, Drew, Cole, and Brooke Nordman, Alex Williams, Daniel, Noelle, John, and Sydnie Sahhar, Kaylie, Brianna, and Luke Buriak, Buddy and Amber McDaniel, Jack Dutenhafer, Hannah, Brynn, and Karah Lawson, Jasmine Nelson, Alex, Henry, Bailey, Ashlynn, Zoe, and Blaise Smith, Julia Smithmeyer, Hunter and Lacey Klug, Owen Hornickel, and Micah Baker; Sister: Katherine Meyers of Fargo; Brother: Earl Schmidt of Fargo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Lloyd and Francis Schmidt and daughter: Myrna Vogel.

Mass of Christian Burial : Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church- Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service : Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Friday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home and from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the church prior to the prayer service.
Memorials are preferred to Minot Catholic Schools Foundation.
