Marian Bower, 85, Prescott, AZ and formerly of Minot died on Monday, January 11, 2016 in a Prescott nursing home.

Marian was born on September 21, 1930 in Williston, ND to Warren and Marie (Almy) Durbin. She was reared in Minot, attended Washington Elementary School, graduated from Minot High School in 1948 and received specialized training at a secretarial school in Chicago. She worked for a brief time at Eastman Kodak in Chicago.

Marian married Theodore (Ted) Charles Bower of Willow City, North Dakota on October 30, 1950 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Willow City before moving to Sunland, California in 1956 where she was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker prior to working at Von's Grocery Store Bakery until her retirement. Marian and Ted returned to Minot in 1988 when Ted retired. They resided at 515 8th Ave. S.E. Ted died on April 10th, 1999. Marian continued to reside in Minot until 2001 when she moved to Prescott, AZ to be closer to her daughter.

Marian was a former member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot where she volunteered at the food pantry and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sunland. Also, she was an active member of the reunion committee for her high school class.

Marian's loving family includes her daughters: JoLynn (husband Bill) Doran of Prescott, AZ, Janice (husband Keith) Motes of Brea, CA; sons: Michael (wife Patricia) Bower of Severn, MD, Patrick (wife Madaline) Bower of Riverside, CA Jeffrey (wife Koral Garnett) Bower of Simi Valley, CA and Timothy Bower of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Christie (Bower) Carlton, Christopher Bergquist, Adrianne (Garnett-Bower) Naddell, Regina (Bergquist) Davis, Jody (Bergquist) Hill, Becky Bower, Sarah Bower, Chelsea (Garnett-Bower) Smith, Michelle (Bower) Finn and Evelyn Bower; great grandchildren: Brendan Bower and Keara Cedulie Carlton; Mikayla, Elizabeth and Alexis Finn; Elliott, Emerson and Holden Naddell; Theodore (Charlie), Jack and Will Bergquist; Max and Lainey Davis; Berkeley Hill; sister-in-law: Verna Bower and brothers-in-law: James Bower of Minot and Lyle Bickel of Willow City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Warren Durbin; her husband Theodore (Ted) Bower; sister, Marjorie Wade and brother, William (Bill) Durbin.

Mass of Christian Burial : July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation : July 14, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
