Margaret Marie Stromme, 92, Stanton, formerly of Bergen, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in her home.

Margaret Klein was born May 5, 1914, in Verendrye, ND, one of eleven children, to Sebastian and Barbara (Weist) Klein. She was raised on the family farm in Verendrye. As a young adult, Margaret moved to Minot, where she was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital.

Margaret was united in marriage to Orrel Stromme on October 10, 1944, in Karlsruhe, ND. They made their home and established their own family farm located north of Bergen, ND. Margaret worked diligently on the farm, helping in any way she could, but her special gift was caring for the geese, cows, chickens, and turkeys.

Their marriage was blessed with three children, Jerome, Donavin, and Corinne. They raised their children with a strong work ethic and a love of the land. As a couple, they loved to dance whenever the opportunity arose. It was amazing to watch as they would float across the dance floor. Margaret and Orrel continued their farming operation for almost 50 years, until 1992, when Orrel became ill and they moved to Stanton, ND, to be nearer their sons.

Following Orrel's death in 1993, Margaret continued to reside in Stanton. She became renowned for her precise and quality quilts that were given to her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Sivesend, Carmen (Gil) Mell, Connie (Doug) Hegg, Colisa Bingamen, Denise (John) Gunning, Renee Stromme, Sandee (Eric) Schwab, Michelle East, Jakki (Will) East-Peters, and Terri (Zach) Beaver; Great-grandchildren: Jerry Lee Bakken, Jennifer Bakken, Jessica Bakken, Kyle and Kayla Mell, Kacie and Tyler Hegg, Kallen Bingamen, Clark, Nathan, and Harlee Gunning, Laekyn and Logan Schwab, Claudia East, Rowan and Makare East-Peters, and Zoe and Damian Beaver; Great-Great Granddaughter: Madelin Bakken; Sisters: Theresa Klein, Minot, ND, Barbara Hankel, Minot, ND, and Agnes Streitz, Burlington, ND; Brothers: Carl Klein, Minot, ND; Joe Klein, Minot, ND, and Frank Klein, Kent, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Pauline Klein, Josephine Heilman, Marie Klein, and Martina Weinrich.

Funeral: Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
Interment: Bergen Community Cemetery, Bergen, ND
Visitation: Tuesday, July 18, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred to Hazen Hospice Care of Hazen, ND.
