Margaret Ann (Peggy) Brooks , beloved wife of Dr. Fred O. Brooks, Minot, departed this earth on January 27, 2007, in Trinity hospital.
Peggy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 13, 1941, to Cecil and Sadie Goddard. In her youth she attended schools across much of Canada, 23 in all, as her family followed her father's work from the Alcan Highway to the oilfields and grain fields of Saskatchewan. Peggy lived in Minot from 1979 until the present. She earned a B.A. degree from the University of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and B.S. and M.A. degrees from Minot State University. She became a U.S. citizen in 2003.
Peggy was a loving wife to Fred for 21 years and a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She was a voracious reader, keeping herself informed and dynamic her entire life. She taught at Bishop Ryan in Minot and at Minot State University.
She is survived by her husband Fred, Minot; Mother: Sadie Goddard, Mossbank, Sask.; Son: Shawn Wood, San Antonio, TX; Daughters: Cheryl Simon, Atlanta, GA, Cara Freiz, Greenwood, SC; Brothers: Ken, Stamford, CT, Don, Victoria, BC; Step-daughter: Traci White, El Paso, TX; Stepson: David Brooks, Minneapolis, MN; 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Peggy had many friends in her bridge group, birthday club, and many other activities. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, and loving her family, clearly demonstrating the quality of person she was. She will be sincerely missed and long remembered by all who knew her.

: Monday, January, 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
Visitation:
There will be no reviewal; however friends may sign a memorial register book from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service in the Thomas Family Funeral Home.
