Margaret Beach, 86, Upham, formerly of Minot, died Friday, November 21, 2014 in a Bottineau nursing home.
Margaret was born December 11, 1927, in Everett, WA, to Merton and Ola Maltais. She was raised and educated in Marysville. She continued to reside in Marysville during her working years and over the years spent time as a secretary for Western Farmers and was also an owner/operator of a logging company for ten years.
Margaret, with assistance from her father, cleared the land and built the home that her two sons, Darren and Kyle still reside in today. She never stopped providing the essentials for her children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren throughout her life. She was talented in so many ways, but had special interests in sewing, arts and crafts. She belonged to a women\'s group for many years that helped to cultivate these hobbies.
Margaret spent the last twenty-four years of her life with John Ellis. They moved to Minot in 2002 and were displaced by the flood of 2011, causing a move to Upham, ND until she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Bottineau in 2014.
Margaret is survived by her children, Darren Beach and Kyle Gill, both of Marysville, WA, companion of 24 years, John Ellis, Upham, ND, grandchildren, Ashley Zimmerman, Nick Zimmerman, Kaje Bradshaw and Samantha Boykin, all of Marysville, WA, stepdaughter, JoAnn (Matt) Kerzman, Upham, ND, step granddaughter, Jesse (Tyler) Smette, step great granddaughter, Hailey Smette, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Arlene Hoskins.
An inurnment service will be held at a later date in Marysville, WA.
