Marcella R. Hornstein , 89, Minot, died Friday, February 27, 2009 in a Minot Adult Fostercare Home.

Marcella was born January 18, 1920 at Tunbridge, North Dakota, the daughter of Conrad and Della (Johnson) Monger. She was raised at Silva, North Dakota and graduated from High School there in 1937. During her younger years, she was employed at various places near Silva.

Marcella was once married to Joe Hornstein and from this union they had three children. They made their home in Rugby from 1939 until moving to Minot in 1952. Marcella was employed at Magic City Laundry from 1954-1968. She had made her home at the Semmen Adult Fostercare home since 2005.

Marcella as a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot and enjoyed reading, doing embroidery work and stitching.

Her loving family includes : daughter: Sharon (Jim) Woods, Minot and son, Darold Hornstein, Williston, ND. Grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Ebert, JoEllen (Rob) Christianson, Brooks (Aimee) Hornstein, Holly Hornstein and Robbie Hornstein. Great-Grandchildren: Courtney, Maddie, Sam, McKenzie and Elliot.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jolene Hornstein and a sister, Deloris Lundgren.

Funeral service: Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.in Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.
Interment : Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
