Marcell Hopkins, 28, Minot and formerly of Wylie, TX, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025.

A beloved son, Marcell Hopkins was born June 11, 1996 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ginger (Johnson) Williams and Edward Hopkins. He grew up in Texas attending school in Wylie, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. He played little league soccer and football for Wylie High School. He graduated in 2014.

It was in the heart of Texas that he developed his lifelong love of the Dallas Cowboys. He looked forward to gamedays and his fandom made many feel like he was on the field with his favorite team. Marcell was a Cowboy's fanatic, much to the chagrin of his dad, a member of the niner gang!

Marcell split time between North Dakota and Texas after graduation and began working in the pest control industry. Last October, he started working with his father in the construction industry as a contractor learning the lessons of the trade.

Like many in today's technological age, he was a gamer.  He may have rage quit a time or two but was really impressed with Nolan's (brother) skills when he picked up the remote in his absence.

Marcell valued his entire family and often spoke of how welcome he always felt no matter where he called home. He shared a deep connection with his faith that often came through with the love he showed for all his siblings. He will be missed so very deeply but remembered for his infectious smile, his love for the beach, and all things fishing!

Marcell is survived by his mother Ginger (Justin) Williams, Wylie, TX, father Edward (Wendy Skar) Hopkins, Minot, ND, siblings Elliona and Nolan Hopkins and Dylan and Hailee Williams and Isabelle and Angelina Carpenter; grandparents Robert (Peggy) Williams and Marsha (Gerald) Johnson; aunts and uncles include Jason (Stephanie) Johnson, Jennifer (Mark) Boomer, Pam (Toby) Dowell, Damion (Cindy Rinehart) Hopkins, Natalie Wells, Winston Daisley, Marcus Shaw, and Darlena Enno; numerous cousins and many friends.

Marcell was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lois Jean Kankovsky and Tim Johnson.
