Magdalena "Lena" Lemer , 93, Minot, formerly of Drake, ND died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, in a Minot hospital.

Lena was born January 5, 1917, one of nine children on the Volk family farm in Rosebush Township of McHenry County, ND to George and Veronika (Bossert) Volk. She was educated in Rosebush Township School.

Lena was united in marriage to Ludwig G. Lemer on October 12, 1937. They made their home on a farm near Balfour and later on a farm north of Drake. Lena was employed in the Central Supply Department of St. Joseph's Hospital in Minot until her retirement in 1982 after which she volunteered for various charitable organizations. Ludwig passed away on October 13, 1970.

Lena was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. Life enjoyments included gardening, sewing, music, spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Surviving family includes: eight children, thirty-five grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight siblings, a daughter-in-law and one grandson.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 707 16th Avenue, SW, Minot, ND.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND.
