Lynn Voth, 89, Minot, died Monday, October 21, 2013 in his home.

Lynn was born March 4, 1924 on a farm home east of Garrison to Frank and Anna Voth, the tenth of twelve children. At an early age he moved to northern Minnesota and later returned to their farm south of Benedict. He attended Palm Berg School through seventh grade. He quit school to farm with his dad. His great joy was when his dad bought a tractor and he didn't have to work with horses anymore.

In March of 1948 he married Betty Lu Kraft in Turtle Lake and they set up farming one mile east of his home place. They grain farmed and milked cows for thirty years and then went to grain and range cows. They were awarded the Soil Conservation Award in 1989.

Lynn was a self-taught musician on the accordion and key board. He drove school bus for the Turtle Lake School District for 10 years. He enjoyed bowling with the men's league and mixed doubles. He was always active in his church serving as trustee, deacon and Young at Heart. He enjoyed wood working and remodeling their homes.

After fifty years of farming they retired and moved to Minot. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in March of 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, Minot, children, Roger (Kathie) Voth, Benton, AR, Bruce (Michelle) Voth, Berthold, ND, Michael (Irene) Voth, Sauk Rapids, MN, Sandra (Dennis) Marske, Andover, SD, Lyle (Brenda) Voth, Hebron, ND and Marsha (Art) Swanson, Hazen, ND; 19 grandchildren, Luke Voth, Jared Voth, Paul Voth, Sadie Voth, Matthew Voth, Monica Voth, Stephen Voth, Aaron Voth, Charity Strilcov, Orrie Jesz, Shannon Jesz, Penny Aamann, Allen Wanner, Kristi Madler, Joshua Voth, Jesse Voth, Jaden Voth, Travis Swanson and Jessica Swanson; 19 great-grandchildren, Adrianna Voth, Lily Voth, Paxon Voth, Evie Voth, Lucy Voth, Jenner Ahlstrand, Noelle Ahlstrand, Ruby Ahlstrand, Noah Madler, Gage Madler, Lexie Voth, Mia Voth, Mac Voth, Teagan Strilcov, Isaac Jesz, Daniel Jesz, Ethan Jesz, Carolynn Jesz and Mason Voth; sisters, Harriet Christopherson, Garrison, ND, Ella Rime, Garrison, ND, Verla Meyers, Sioux Falls, SD and Vivian Kraft, Turtle Lake, MN; brother, Arlo Voth, Turtle Lake, ND and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, KaiLa Voth, 2 infant sisters, 2 infant brothers, sisters, Elsie Mehrkens, Lily Simonson, Florence Green, Clara Reiser and Ora Bialke, brother, Wesley Voth and daughter-in-law, Nettie Voth.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God, Minot.
Interment: Turtle Lake Community Cemetery, Turtle Lake, ND at 3:00 p.m. with a fellowship time to follow at Bev's Caf in Turtle Lake.
Visitation: Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
