Lyman Ole Haugeberg, 75, Minot, died Sunday, June 26, 2016 in his home.
Lyman was born December 23, 1940 at Minot, North Dakota the son of Oliver and Emma (Newman) Haugeberg. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1959. He enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1960 and was stationed in Alaska for 2 years, where he learned to snow ski. He received his honorable discharge in 1963.
Lyman was united in marriage to Dorothy Klein on April 2, 1964 at Minot. They made their home on a farm in the South Prairie area near Minot. He was employed as a salesman for John Deere Company and then worked as a truck driver for Bridgeman Creamery (Land O' Lakes) for 30 years. He retired in 2004. They sold the farm in 2008 and moved to Montana for a few years, before returning to Washburn, North Dakota in 2010. They returned to Minot in 2014.
Lyman was a member of the local Teamster's Union #74, Minot American Legion and Eagles Aerie. He had also been a former member of Toastmasters. His hobbies and interests included, fishing, hunting, playing the computer game FreeCell, enjoyed photography and was an avid reader.
His loving family includes : wife of 52 years, Dorothy; children, Jodi (Gerry) Robertson, Belgrade, MT, Jan Beck, Livingston, MT; 4 grandchildren: Tabitha (Charlie) Burnette, Megan Mickey, Robert and Brittney Beck; 2 great grandchildren, Jayden and Jaxon Burnette; brothers, Jerry (Jill) Haugeberg, Fairbanks, AK, Bruce (Patsy) Haugeberg, Minot; sister-in-law, Phoebe Haugeberg, Minot; brothers and sisters in law, Beverly, LeRoy (Donna), Verna (Ed), Denise (Jim), Ray (Brenda), Randy (Kim), Rachel (Dave), and Rollie; several nieces and nephews.
Lyman was preceded in death by his parents and brother, LeRoy Haugeberg.
Visitation: Friends may sign a memorial register book on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorial Gathering : Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Surrey Senior Center located west of the Post Office at 301 2nd Street NW, Surrey. Please dress casually.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family prefers memorials.
