Lyle J. Mogler, 87, Minot, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 in a Minot hospital.
Lyle was born July 26, 1925 in South Dakota and was reared by Arthur and Mabel (Riddle) Mogler. He attended grade school in Badger, South Dakota and high school in Arlington, South Dakota, where he graduated with the class of 1943.
Lyle married his lifetime friend and high school sweetheart, Josephine Armstrong after finishing school on June 19, 1943. He took a job with Nash Finch in the warehouse, but quickly was moved to a sales position. They lived in Watertown, SD moving with the company to Aberdeen, Huron, Sioux Falls, and Scotts Bluff, NE until settling to Minot in 1970. He retired from the company following 47 years of service in 1990.
Lyle was a lover of music. He played piano and organ and always enjoyed attending a variety of music festivities that the community has offered over the years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for almost 40 years. Baseball was his main sport, enjoying a variety of all levels, but he enjoyed all sports. He loved to travel with Josephine to a variety of places throughout the world in their retirement years. He will be missed as a husband and father.
His loving family includes wife of almost 70 years, Josephine, Minot and a son, Doug Mogler, Vallejo, CA.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mabel Mogler and Lydia Davidson.
At the request of the family, a private service will be held at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
