Lyle Duane "Juice" Kornkven , 75, Minot and Casper, Wyoming, formerly of Bottineau and Williston, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 in a Minot Hospital.
Lyle was born April 15, 1939 at Bottineau, North Dakota the son of Gustav and Florence (Svensgaard) Kornkven. He was raised and educated in the Bottineau area.
Throughout his adult years, Lyle was employed in the oil industry, where he loved 'pushing tools,' primarily working in Williston. Lyle and his wife, Carol had recently moved to Minot to assist with the care of his brother in law, Don Shillander.
Lyle was an avid lake fisherman and car guy, which included possessing the biggest boat on the lake and largest motor in his car. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer. In their travels together, no matter where they went, Lyle and Carol often ran into someone he knew. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Carol Kornkven; special cat, "Miss Kitty"; his children, Cindy and Mick, both of Williston; four grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Taryn and Kaitlyn; along with one great grandson, and his many friends he made throughout the years.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dolores Shillander.
Public Visitation
: Monday, February 9, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
At Lyle's request there will not be a service.
Interment:
Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Carbury, ND later in the spring of 2015.
