Obituary

Lydia Yecoshenko, 98, Minot and formerly of the Butte and Kief areas died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in a Minot healthcare center.

Lydia was born on April 14, 1920 in Kief, ND to P.A. and Mayme Michalenko. She was raised and educated in the Kief area and graduated from Kief High School. She continued her education at Minot State Teachers College where she earned a Standard Teaching Certificate. As a young adult she was employed at a rural school in the Kief area.

Lydia married William Yecoshenko on May 3, 1941. They made their home on a farm south of Butte where they raised small grains, cattle and chickens. They later moved into Butte. William died in 2007 and Lydia moved to Minot. Most recently, she had been a resident of Minot Health and Rehab.

Lydia was a longtime member of the Butte Assembly of God and served as a Sunday School teacher and pianist there. She especially enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Lydia is survived by her son: Rick (Kathie) Yecoshenko of Minot; grandchildren: Blair Hendrickson, Todd (Janelle) Yecoshenko and Troy Yecoshenko; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Billy Jr., grandson: Trent Yecoshenko and brothers: Peter and Bert Michalenko.

Memorial Service: Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room of the First Assembly of God. (Please use the south entrance due to the construction.)

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are preferred to the Gideon's, Child Evangelism Fellowship, or ATFB (About The Father's Business).
