Obituary

Lowell Dale Christianson, 79, Minot and formerly of Glenburn and Lake Metigoshe died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 in a Minot healthcare center.

Lowell was born on June 12, 1936 in Minot to Alfred and Jerda (Elie) Christianson. He was reared on a farm near Landa until 1950 when the family moved to Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 1954.

Lowell married Rogene Clark on February 1, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot prior to moving to Glenburn in 1958 where he was employed by Chevron Oil Company from 1958 until 1976 and farmed in Grilley Township of McHenry County. Following their retirement they moved to Lake Metigoshe in 1997 and to Minot in 2005. Rogene died on January 9, 2015.

Lowell was a member of First Lutheran Church - Minot , Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and Eagles Aerie and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenburn.

He especially enjoyed golfing and card playing.

Lowell's loving family includes his children: Galen (Kathleen) Christianson of Champlin MN, Cheryl (John) Wallen of Minot, Wade (Liz) Christianson of Minot, Blain (Gail) Christianson of Fargo and Doug (Michelle) Christianson of Minot; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; brother: Glen (Joyce) Christianson of Boise, ID; sisters: Lenore Lovejoy of Sebastpol, CA and Carolyn (Bobby) Nakomoto of Sunnyvale, CA; sister-in-law: Linda Erickson - Talley of Lansford and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter: Nicole Christianson, brother-in-law: Ken Lovejoy, niece: Heather Christianson and nephew: Steven Lovejoy.

Celebration of the Life of Lowell Christianson: Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot.

Interment will be held at a later date in Fairview Cemetery - Glenburn.

Visitation: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Metigoshe Ministries, CancerCare Cottage - Minot or the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown.
